Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari today asked the newly elected BJP councillors of the three civic bodies to work towards making the national capital garbage-free in the next one year.
The councillors were also instructed to work for total digitisation of various services rendered by the civic bodies in next two years.
The BJP was voted to power in the three corporations, third time in a row, in the civic polls held last month. The party managed to bag 181 of a total 272 corporation wards in the elections.
Tiwari in a meeting said that the councillors had a great responsibility to fulfil the party's promises made in the Sankalp Patra issued by it during the MCD polls and make Delhi a city as per the dreams of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"We have to make Delhi a garbage-free city, where garbage accumulation is not allowed at any place for more than 24 hours, in next 365 days. Total digitisation of municipal services is also to be implemented within two years," he said.
The BJP national vice president and Delhi incharge Shyam Jaju guided the councillors for transparent and honest administration in view of "overwhelming" mandate given to the party in the MCD polls.
The councillors were also addressed by the Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta, national secretary RP Singh, and other leaders.
The BJP nominees on mayoral posts in three corporations, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Neema Bhagat Preety Aggarwal, along with other councillors were present in the meeting.
