Worker electrocuted while repairing electricity line

A contractual worker was electrocuted whereas his colleague was seriously injured while repairing an electricity line in Mauranipur area, police said today.
Santosh and Puran Kushwaha were sent to repair the 11,000 volt electricity line on Gursahaiganj yesterday, they said.
Puran came into contact with the electricity line while working on it. Seeing this, Santosh climbed the pole to help him and he too was electrocuted.
Santosh died on the spot whereas Puran sustained serious injuries and was referred to Gwalior for treatment, police said.
A case of negligence has been filed against the power employees and the matter is being investigated, police added.
