Heavy rain forecast for sub-Himalayan West Bengal

Humid condition prevailed in large parts of gangetic West Bengal today even as the Met office forecast heavy rains for sub-Himalayan West Bengal in the next two days.
Jalpaiguri received 40.7 mm rainfall, the highest in the state since yesterday, the MeT department said.
Coochbehar district received 26.4 mm rain while Darjeeling had 5.1 mm rain.
A few places in gangetic West Bengal received some rain since yesterday, with Asansol recording 11.2 mm and Sriniketan 8.4 mm rain.
Both Bankura and Sriniketan recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius, the day's highest temperature in the state, according to the MeT department.
Kolkata, with the day's highest temperature of 34.6 degrees Celsius and no rain, was very humid throughout the day, causing lot of discomfort for the dwellers.
The Met department has forecast heavy rain for the districts of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar in the next one or two days, while for Gangetic West Bengal, the forecast is of partly cloudy sky with possibility of one or two spells of rain.
