Workers killed in explosion

Two conservancy workers were today killed in an explosion while trying to clear plastic cans at Vandavasi in Tiruvannamalai district, police said.
The victims, identified as Venkatesan and Arjunan, were trying to remove the plastic cans lying near a landfill site when the explosion occurred, a senior police official said.
Experts have been summoned to ascertain the cause of the explosion, the official said.
