Workshop on implementation of e-office tomorrow

A workshop to discuss ways on computerisation of office process through e-office will be organised here tomorrow.
Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the workshop, being organised in partnership with the National Informatics Centre by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).
E-office is an important tool of e-governance for bringing efficiency and quality in public service delivery, a release issued today said.
"It is expected that this workshop will generate required momentum among the participants to implement e-office in all central ministries or departments immediately," it said.
The workshop is being organised especially to sensitise the Indian Administrative Service officers of 2013 batch, who have been recently deputed to the central ministries or departments as Assistant Secretaries on deputation basis, who can play a pivotal role for initiating faster implementation of the e-office project across.
This will also enable them to carry the rich experience of implementing e-office in central ministries or departments to the districts and states to which they have been allotted so that they can use this knowledge in their day-to-day activities, the release said.
The NIC will make a presentation on e-office and guidelines on Indian government website. Ministries of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development will share their experiences in successful implementation of the e-office project in their ministries, it said.
The workshop will be attended by Devendra Chaudhry, Secretary (AR&PG), Bhaskar Khulbe, Additional Secretary to the PMO and Usha Sharma, Additional Secretary, DARPG among others.
