Private sector Yes Bank today said it has received approval of shareholders to re-appoint Rana Kapoor as Managing Director and CEO of the bank.
The approval was given at the 10th annual general meeting (AGM) of the bank held here on Saturday.
"The shareholders approved the re-appointment of Rana Kapoor as Managing Director and CEO," a Yes Bank statement said.
The bank said all resolutions were approved with significant majority, reflecting over 98 per cent support from shareholders.
The appointments of Lt Gen (Retd) Mukesh Sabharwal, Brahm Dutt, Radha Singh, Saurabh Srivastava and Vasant V Gujarathi as independent directors were also approved during the meeting.
"We are extremely satisfied with the trust and faith shown by the institutional and retail shareholders in the board of directors, bank's performance, growth plans and decisions to maintain the highest professional standards of the management team," Yes Bank non-executive Chairman M R Srinivasan said.
"The board of the bank has always acted in a manner, which is in accordance with law, and has upheld the principles of corporate and management governance," he added.
Madhu Kapur, widow of bank's co-founder Ashok Kapur, is fighting a legal battle with the bank management and Kapoor over right to nominate a director on the board.
