Kithour Police stataion SHO Summer Singh Yadav said Vikas committed suicide yesterday by consuming poison but "we are investigating why he killed himself".
Vikas's brother claimed he committed suicide because he was unable to repay loans to two banks and had received a notice on May 20 in this regard.
He said Vikas was depressed after he received the notice and consumed poison at his tubewell.
Meanwhile, BJP Vyapari Prakosth convenr Vineet Aggrawal met the aggrieved family and said his party would hit the streets on the farmers' plight.
