A young tiger died in a suspected territorial fight with another big cat in Brahmapuri division of forest, a senior officer said today.
"The carcass of the tiger was found by forest staff under Padmapur beat under South Brahmapuri Range on Monday morning," said Chief Conservator of Forests, Sanjay Thakre.
To a query, he said the deceased tiger, around two-and-half-year old, had multiple injuries on its body indicating that the feline had a fight with another tiger.
"All its body parts were intact and there seems no possibility of poaching," the officer said.
The viscera of the tiger was sent for testing.
