The accused called Doctor Puneet Mehta, who runs a dental clinic, yesterday and demanded Rs five lakh as extortion money. He also threatened him of dire consequences in case of non payment, Superintendent of Police Mohit Gupta said.
Following this, the crime branch and surveillance team arrested Mohd Akram alias Munna in this connection late last evening, he said.
The SP said that Munna had returned from Mumbai recently and it would be looked into whether he has any connection with criminals there.
