Youth killed as scooter hits auto-rickshaw in Delhi

A 27-year-old youth was killed and his friend critically injured when the scooter they were riding hit an auto-rickshaw in Central Delhi's Chandni Chowk area, police said today.
The deceased has been identified as Faizal while his friend has been identified as Vimal (25).
The incident took place around 12:30 am last night when the duo was riding the two-wheeler near Gurdwara Sheesh Ganj. They were going toward the Chandni Chowk metro to meet friends.
"As they tried to take a U-turn toward the metro station, they hit an auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite side. The impact was such that both of them were thrown in the air. While Faizal's head smashed onto the divider, Vimal was thrown on the road," said a police official.

Both of them were rushed to hospital where Faizal was declared 'brought dead' while Vimal's condition is stated to be critical.
Police said the two were not wearing helmet at the time of the incident.
