Youth mowed down by bus on Parliament Street

A 21-year-old youth was mowed down by an orange cluster bus on Parliament Street in the heart of the national capital here this evening.
The driver of the bus, identified as Nikhilesh Kumar (40) has been arrested, said a police official.
The incident took place around 5 PM when Salman Khan, who worked as a fruit vendor nearby was crossing the road when he was crushed to death by a cluster bus.
"The bus was heading towards Jantar Mantar. The driver Nikhilesh got out of the bus and rushed Salman to the hospital in an auto where he was declared dead on arrival," said a police official.

The deceased was a resident of Ghaziabad, said a police official.
A case under section 279 (rash driving on a public way) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) was registered at the Parliament Street police station.
Salman's body was sent for a post-mortem examination and later handed over to his family.
