Youth rapes 3-yr-old cousin, attempts suicide

A 17-year-old boy allegedly raped his three-year-old cousin and upset over his misdeed, attempted suicide by consuming poison in Ramnagar village of the district, police said today.
Prempal, a class IX student, had taken the girl to a nearby place and raped her yesterday evening, police said.
Later, he attempted suicide by consuming poison, they said, adding, his relatives rushed him to a nearby hospital.
The girl's relatives lodged a police complaint on the basis of which the youth was arrested from hospital, they said.
He is now in custody in hospital, they said, adding, the victim was sent for medical examination.

In another case, a youth Deepak Kumar was arrested for harrassing a student near Ghas Mandi here, police said.
