Nifty edges up; U.S. debt ceiling deal supports sentiment

REUTERS - The Nifty edged higher on Thursday, propelled by financials such as Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd, on positive sentiment as global markets recovered after the U.S. government agreed to raise its debt limit until December.

The Nifty closed 0.14 percent higher at 9,929.90. The benchmark Sensex, however, ended unchanged at 31,662.74.

Shares of Indiabulls Housing Finance closed up 4.1 percent.
