IND vs WI 3rd ODI- Prasidh Krishna Player of the Series

 

Prasidh Krishna who made an impact in every game of the series and most crucially won the second game with his brilliant bowling performance of 4-12 to hand  India the series has been declared Player of the Series. In total, the 25-year-old picked up nine wickets in the series including three in this game

IND vs WI 3rd ODI- Shreyas Iyer Player of the Match

 

Shreyas Iyer who hit 80 off 11 balls and most importantly added 110 for the fourth wicket with Rishabh Pant and also gobbled up a catch in the field was adjudged Player of the Match amidst top competition from Deepak Chahar who hit crucial 38 and also picked two early wickets.

IND vs WI 3rd OD- India registers yet another clean sweep, finds many winners

 

Rohit Sharma who started his career as full-time captain of India's T20I set-up with a 3-0 clean sweep against New Zealand has managed to achieve the same in the ODIs as well. All the three wins have been very comfortable for the Indian side and in each game, the side was able to find a new winner. 

 

If it was Yuzvendara Chahal with the ball and Rohit Sharma with the bat in the first game, Suryaklumar Yadav with the bat and Prasidh Krishna with the ball in the second game, then Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar stood out in this game to evidence the depth in Indian cricket

IND vs WI 3rd ODI | WI 169-10 | 37.1 Over | Target 266- India win

In the air and gone. It's all over. Prasidh Krishna gets the final wicket as West Indies' innings end on 169. It was short and there to be pulled and Jospeh did pull it but couldn't time it and Virat Kohli at deep fine leg catches it to register the win for India. India completes a clean sweep and it's the first time in history that India has beaten West Indies 3-0.

And Hayden Walsh Jr is gone and finally, a frustrating stand for India comes to the end. The team needs one wicket to win. It was short and into the body from Siraj, the field was planned for that delivery with a short leg and leg gully in place. The 47 run stand, the best for the Wets Indies team in the game so far, comes to an end. 

 

Alzarri Joseph, who is batting on 29 will now like to get a move on 

Siraj who now has three wickets would want to finish with a four-fer as only one wicket remains for West Indies

 

Roach does well to not get out as another over now needs to be bowled

Huge!! That is a good shot from Alzarri Joseph. It was tossed up and Jospeh just drives it over the bowler's head for a six 

 

In the air and once again evades the fielder. It was short and on the pads and Joseph just nudged it, it went in the air but way from Surya at leg slip and by the time he could field it the batters completed a double

Mo Siraj comes into the attack

 

In the air and dropped !! That was short pulled by Joseph and it went straight to Praisdhg Krishna at deep fine leg and he didn't even have to move and still managed to drop the sitter as he was not aware of the ropes and jumped to catch it.

Wide down the leg side as it is getting difficult to grip the ball for spinners and Pant misses the ball. 

 

Pant after missing the ball says, "tactic tha bhaiya" meaning that he missed the ball knowingly just because he wanted left hander Walsh to come on crease against Sundar the off spinner

Siraj comes into the attack and there are signs of dew on the ground. Now West Indies will wonder that had they just stayed on for a bit more, things would have been different.

Oh a run-out chance but the throw needed to be more accurate, the wicketkeeper needed to be fast to get up to the stumps. 

 

And this is funny. The ball hits Jospeh high on the bat as he pulls it and goes over Pant who runs behind it, Kuldeep from the third man dives and pushes the ball away from the ropes and Siraj from fine leg overruns the ball, slips and the ball touches the ropes as Pant laughs on standing

It seems like we are seeing two different West Indian innings in just one inning. The first 8 batters didn't even try to stay there. No doubt they got great deliveries but the application wasn't there much as has been seen here from Walsh and Joseph

Short of length. Almost a half-tracker and Walsh Jr rocks back and pulls it for four past the mid-wicket

Another over comes to the end and still, West Indies haven't lost the wicket. It is becoming boring as a viewer because the West Indian batters are not even scoring quickly

In the air but falls short. It was flighted and Walsh drives it forward and that evades the fielder at short cover and a sloppy fielding means that two runs are taken

 

Kuldeep keeps on getting edges and is unable to find a man at the right place to catch them. Another over passes away without getting the wicket.

Siraj comes and Smith hits him for to third man

 

This one was well directed slower bouncer from Siraj as Smith misses to connect

 

And that's it. Siraj has his man and Smith is gone. Once again a short ball and rising up to his chest as he tries to rock this for six. Smith is only able to get a leading edge and Shikhar Dhawan catches it removing the dangerman and putting a stop to the entertainment

Where did that go? Man, that has gone like 100 rows back in the Narendra Modi Stadium. That was humungous from Smith. Even Rohit Sharma was shocked. 

 

The more sixes that Smith hits here, the more his rates are going to go up in tomorrow's IPL auction

Mohd Siraj in attack and bowls a short slower ball and Smith pulls it for two runs

 

That was way too short and is called wide but Smith went for it as well, just missed the ball by a whisker

 

Oh and a drop!! Surya has dropped this. It was a sitter almost but he has dropped that and given Odean another life. How entertaining could that be?

Kuldeep against Odean and the first one is google and he tries to move away and leave it but gets the toe end of the bat-no run

 

Here is the show that we have been waiting for Odean Smith unleashes the power, brutal power. It was full and coming into him and he slogs it over mid-wicket for six

 

Another six. This one is straight as an arrow for a six. This was once again pitched up Smith just punishes this for six

Kuldeep has taken his second wicket and removes set man Pooran just as I was talking about him showcasing his skills. It was thrown wide and full inviting Pooran to drive and he drove and got the edge Rohit Sharma got caught it easily

 

Oh and Smith presents a chance again but it wasn't going to be caught and ball because of the speed of the shot from Smith

 

Odean Smith show is on. Let's how far can it go. He hits yet another four to end the over and that was cracking as a whip

With only skipper Pooran being the recognised batter in the middle and the destruction from Odean Smith to come, how far can the West Indies go from here?

Even if they don't go that far, the men in the middle and Smith who is yet to come, would want to showcase thier batting skills

Has Kuldeep got his man? The on-field umpire has given it catch out and the batter reviews it after a long thought and the ultra edge shows that the batter indeed gets the edge and Kuldeep has his man indeed. Allen goes for a duck and has diminished his chances for IPL Mega Auctions tomorrow as well it seems. 

Beats Alzarri Joseph on the last ball as Kuldeep finishes a brilliant over.

IND vs WI 3rd ODI | WI 77-5 | 16 Over | Target 266- Holder gone, half the West Indan side is back

 

In the air...and that clears the infield and goes for a four. It was the same shot that got him out in the second game. But this time around there was no fielder in the deep

 

In the air again, but just over the bowler's head and falls in the vacant area behind the umpire. 

 

And finally, he gets it. After two edges, the third one gets Holder. It was on off and middle stump and going away from Holder who sticks his bat out compulsively and gets an edge which carries to Rohit Sharma at flying slip comfortably. Half the West Indian team is gone now

Edged and beats the slip as Holder opens his account

 

Pitched up from Kuldeep and Pooran takes a single off every good short fielded at the cover

 

That's more like it from Kuldeep. Full, coming back into the right-hander and hitting Holder on the pads

Once again Bravo has fallen after settling down. This is very poor from the experienced batter and it seems that his international career is coming to an end as well. Once again he went for an extravagant drive on a ball that was angled away from him and the second slip in Virat Kohli pouched the ball well. And once again Prasidh Krishna is amongst the wickets. 

Now, after an experienced player departs, the onus falls on Pooran and Jason Holder who has joined the former to show the fighting West Indian spirit and take the game deep.
