The chase for the Kolkata side began in a bad taste with just 16 runs coming off the first four overs and Rahane getting out immediately afterward. Venkatesh Iyer though continued from his end and played till the very end and was witness to the Cummins Carnage that took place.
The KKR innings moved scratchily up till 83-4 in the 12th over when Andre Russell joined in. He hit a few big shots and Venkatesh reached his fifty too. Just after Russell's wicket Cummins came and in just 15 balls, hit 56 of the remaining 61 runs needed.
Earlier in the evening, after being asked to bat first, Mumbai Indians reached 161-4 courtesy of a fifty from Suryakumar Yadav, 38 from Tilak Varma, and 5 ball 22 from Pollard.

Pat Cummins faced 7 deliveries and hit 35 runs in the 16th over and when the over started, KKR needed 35 off 30 balls and when it ended it was all over. In that over, Cummins hit four 6s and two 4s and got a free hit no-ball and a chance as he was caught of that no-ball as well.

Not only did Cummins hit the joint-fastest IPL fifty off just 14 balls equalling KL Rahul’s record, but he also had the third biggest over in IPL history, getting 35 runs from the Danuile Sams over. Prior to it, Ravindra Jadeja and Chris Gayle had hit 36 runs off an over.

Pat Cummins was able to hit a four and a six of the best Mumbai bowler and he has now taken the match almost to an end as the Kolkata side now need only 35 off the last 30 balls and it should be easy from here on.
Just as I say that he has hot yet another six and now it is only 29 off 29 and run a ball is as easy as it gets.
And seems like Pat Cummins has come out of the syllabus for MI. Now only 25 needed off 28 balls as he has yet another boundary and my word you can’t stop him He has yet another six. Yes yet another six and he is on 38 from 11 balls

Four!! Wow just wow, speechless as Cummins reaches the joint-fastest fifty in IPL history off just 14 balls, and with a six off the last ball, he has won it in just one over. Yes, in just one over, he has won the game, making 56 off 15 balls.
