The Mumbai Indians stormed through to the final of the first ever edition of the Women's Premiere League 2023. They defeated the UP Warriorz by a huge margin of 72 runs. Issy Wong was the game-changer of the match for her brilliant hat-trick and a magical spell of 4/15. 

 

Chasing a target of 183, the UP Warriorz could not get going and Kiran Navgire was the only player to present any sort of challenge to the bowling of the Mumbai side. Navgire scored 43 as the UP side got all out for 110 in only 17.4 overs. 

 

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Nat Sciver anchored the innings and took the team to 182. She was helped by the cameos of Amelia Kerr, Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews.

Issy Wong has created history by becoming the first player in the history of the Women’s Premiere League to take a hat-trick, She first removed Kiran Navgire, who was caught in the deep by Nat Sciver off the second ball of the over. Then on the next two balls, show bowled full and straight and bowled Simran Shaikh and Sophie Ecclestone back to back.
