Aegis BPO Services, the business process outsourcing arm of the Essar group, plans to expand in Tier-II towns by opening three facilities in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh for which it plans to hire 5,000 people.
“We will buy buildings for these centres instead of leasing them. The total investment in infrastructure is about $120 million (around Rs 560 crore) and these are our short-term and medium-term plans ,” said Aparup Sengupta, CEO, Aegis BPO.
The company recently opened a centre in Lucknow and also added 2,000 people in the last ten weeks for its US operations. Moreover, Aegis BPO is also contemplating geographical expansions in Europe and Africa to set up capabilities.
