Dell India is betting big on the bring your own device (BYOD) concept for its sales growth and new product launches. “Keeping in mind the changing user preferences, Dell has created a portfolio of devices that are designed to strike a balance between end user preferences and employee productivity to broaden company's BYOD landscape,” Shishir Singh, director (product marketing), Dell India, said.
BYOD is a business policy, which allows employees to bring their personal mobile computing devices to work places and connect those on the corporate network. According to a Dell survey, a growth of 23 per cent was seen in the employee work productivity by using BYOD. The survey was conducted taking 1,500 chief information officers from across companies. “The combination of new Dell hardware and cloud client solutions with Intel technology and Windows operating system makes the technology more accessible for consumers and will offer a secure and power efficient computing experience,” he said.
The company is targeting customers across categories such as education, government, consumers and corporate houses. Dell has a 15 per cent market share in the 11 million-unit PC (including laptop and desktop) market in India.
Singh was here to launch four new products from Dell - XPS 12 convertible, Latitude 10 tablet, Latitude 6430u ultrabook, OptiPlex 9010 all-in-one - the in Andhra Pradesh market.
