1940-1956: The birth of AI

1950: Alan Turning created Turing Test, a method of inquiry for determining whether a computer is capable of thinking like a human being or not

1956-1974: The Golden Years

1956: Conference held at Dartmouth College where the term Artificial Intelligence was coined

1961: Samuel’s Checkers programme used Machine Learning to beat human players

1966: IBM’s Shoebox performed arithmetic by voice command

2018: Google spin-off  Waymo launched self-driving cars in Arizona
