Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is a game that would be loved by all

Roaming around London, bounty hunting and zip-lining, and even ghost hunting with Charles Dickens - these are just some of the many things one can do in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. The successor to Assassin's Creed:Unity, Syndicate is the ninth installment of the franchise. Set in Victorian-era London, Syndicate follows twin assassins, Jacob and Evie Frye, who are tasked with taking the city back from Templar control.

Moving away from its predecessors, Syndicate doesn't have a multiplayer option, but it makes up for it with an enthralling gameplay and an equally engaging storyline.

It's 1868 and the Industrial Revolution has reached its retirement age. The Assassin brotherhood has been nearly eradicated, the Church and the Monarchy are almost powerless and the Templars control the city of London. With the help of famous figures such as Charles Dickens, Charles Darwin, Alexander Graham Bell and even Queen Victoria, among others, the Frye twins have to infiltrate and unite the city's underworld to usurp the Templars. Players have to play as both Jacob and Evie and work together to beat the game.

The best part about the franchise is that the games are open-world. Part of the reason the franchise has garnered so many fans is that it's very easy for a player to forget about the main quest and wander off exploring the city - be it Syndicate's Victorian-era London or Revelations' Ottoman-era Constantinople. Combine it with the parkour abilities one gets to test, and you've got yourself a game you'd pour hours into.

I got my hands on the PlayStation 4 version (Rs 3,499) of the game. The franchise is also popular for its picturesque setting and Syndicate is one step ahead. The beautiful rendition of London in the 1860s with every landmark intricately designed and the option of climbing them all leaves the player absolutely awestruck. Add to that, the brilliant storyline mixing the usual Assassins-Templar rivalry with historic figures, Syndicate is a game that would be loved by all fans of the franchise.
