India aims at making Afghanistan self-sustaining nation: Jaishankar at UNSC

New Delhi, June 22 (ANI): During a UN Security Council debate on the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan on June 12, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stressed on development partnership with Afghanistan to make it self-sustaining nation. "India committed to steadfastly supporting Afghanistan during its transition. Our development partnership, including over 550 community development projects covering 34 provinces, is aimed at making it a self-sustaining nation. Additionally, we have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Afghanistan for building the Shatoot dam, which would provide safe drinking water to the residents of Kabul city," Said EAM Jaishankar at UNSC.
