NSE tightens rules on over 1,000 stocks used as collateral

Vedanta Ltd on Wednesday said it has mitigated 28 million tonnes of carbon emissions since FY23, roughly equivalent to the carbon dioxide absorbed by more than one billion trees annually.
Backed by the country's largest portfolio of energy transition metals, the company utilised 2.61 billion units of renewable energy including waste heat recovery in FY25, Vedanta Ltd said in a statement.
Vedanta has a growing portfolio of low-carbon 'green' products in aluminium (Restora and Restora Ultra), zinc (EcoZen), and display glass (Super Green SaiSei), with some of the lowest carbon footprints in the world.
The company said it has ramped up renewable energy usage by 14 times since FY'20 and is targeting to achieve 2.5 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

Renewable energy solutions provider Suzlon on Wednesday said it has secured a 378 MW wind energy project from NTPC Green Energy, taking its total awarded capacity from the latter to 1,544 MW.
This order strengthens Suzlon's market leadership and its commitment to sustainable, large scale growth, a company statement said.
Furthering its strategic focus on building long term, high impact partnerships, Suzlon has just consolidated its largest partnership with NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) to 1,544 MW, with a recent award of a 378  MW  wind energy project, it stated.
As part of this contract, Suzlon will supply 120 S144 Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) with Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT), each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW, and also undertake foundation, erection, and commissioning for the project and will provide maintenance and services.

The Rajya Sabha on Thursday returned the Finance Bill 2025 to the Lok Sabha, along with 35 government amendments, including one that abolishes a 6 per cent digital tax on online advertisements, thus completing the 2025-26 budgetary exercise that started on February 1.

Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had moved the two bills in the House.

Replying to the debate later in the evening, she said the tendency of the finance ministry would be to exercise caution and not let go of revenues.
