Sourav Ganguly is happy playing the role of only a batsman in the Indian Premier League's Kolkata Knight Riders team and does not miss captaincy at all.
Ganguly, who was replaced by Kiwi Brendon McCullum in the captaincy role for the second edition of the T20 tournament, said he was enjoying his stint as a batsman only.
"No, I don't (miss captaincy). I have captained India for too long, I captained Kolkata Knight Riders last year. Playing well is important," Ganguly said.
Asked about the controversies surrounding his IPL team, Ganguly said since the team was full of stars and losing these days, one or other issue rakes up.
"We have got some names in spotlight. Shah Rukh (Khan), McCullum, (Chris) Gayle and myself. John (Buchanan). When you don't win controversy seems a bit more. If you start winning, things will change," he told NDTV.
Ganguly, whose team has lost four of the five matches played so far, said he was satisfied with his personal form and will do more to change the fortune of the Knight Riders.
"I am feeling good, hitting the ball well. We have important nine games (coming up). I hope we will turn it around. Last year we had a good start. (But) we have lost players. I hope we can turn it around," he said.
