Oscar winning Hollywood music composer James Horner is feared to have died in a  California plane crash. The 61 year old creative film composer was a trained pilot, and was reportedly manning the plane at the time of crash. The accident came as a shock to the Hollywood and his fans around the world.

Horner won two Oscars for his music on the 1997 Jame’s Cameron’s Titanic, one of them the song which touched millions of heart across the globe, My heart will go on, which he co-wrote with Will Jennings.

Here are some of his most famous soundtracks:

1.Aliens (1986):  Hunter got nominated for Oscar for the first time. Also got nominated for Golden Globe. Suffice to say this Camerone movie wouldn't be half as horrifying without Horner's music.

2. Braveheart (1994): Hunter got nominated for Oscar, Golden Globe & BAFTA : The medivial Scottish war saga by Mel Gibson was lifted beyond the dimensions of a movie through the haunting and beautiful scores Horner. The score later became one of the most commercially successful soundtrack of all time.

3. Titanic (1997): This time he won two Oscar, Golden Globe & Grammy winner and got nominated for BAFTA; He co-wrote the famous Celine Dion song “My Heart Will Go On”: Do we really need to say anything about this one? Because if we start the heart will simply go on...

4. A Beautiful Mind(2001): Won Grammy and got nominated for Oscar and Golden Globe: Numbers and (music) notes share a special bond. Horner proves this right for the Russel Crowe starrer biography of John Nash. Remember the realisation scene?

5. Avatar (2011): Got nominated for Oscar, Golden Globe, Grammy, and BAFTA: Cameron's larger than life canvas got Horner's fantastic touch. And magic happened.

6.Field of Dreams (1989): The subtle fantasy of the movie comes to life with Horner's oscar nominated music and the dream like melody inspires the minds of dreamers.

7. House of Sand and Fog (2003): Two of the finest method actors coming together for a dark edge-of-the-seat thriller. You wouldn't expect Horner's soundtrack to play a major role in the movie's success. Watch it and you will know otherwise.

8. An American Tail (1986): A mouse goes looking for his dad in a big bad city. Horner's sometimes chirpy, sometimes tensed scores rendered Spielberg's first animated adventure into an all time children's classic.

9. Apollo 13 (1995):  Horner's music for Apollo 13, will always be remembered as a perfect compliment for one of the most nail biting space-odysseys.

10. Troy (2004):  Wolfgand Peterson's retelling of the Greek epic will be remembered primarily for its haunting background score. Horner weaved in a subtle strain of sorrow and devastation that war, no matter how epic in scale, always leaves behind in its wake.
