Even as its Indore development centre readies itself for functioning, IT giant Infosys is still scouting for land in Gujarat. While it is in talks with the state government for a centre, the company refused to offer deadline for the same.

"We are in talks with the Gujarat government and are scouting land in the state for a development centre. However, we don't know when it will be finalised. Across the country we are looking at expanding our centres, especially in tier II cities since tier I cities have saturated," said S D Shibulal, Co-Founder, CEO and MD, Infosys Ltd on the sidelines of the Gujarat Electronics and Software Industries Association (GESIA) Annual Awards conference.

Talking further about setting up a centre in Gujarat, Shibulal said, "Whenever we intend to set up a centre we look at the local availability of talent, infrastructure, fair land prices, government support, connectivity and quality of life. Ideally such centres employ around 8,000-10,000 professionals."
