AAI takes hard stance on Kingfisher Airlines

To tell DGCA not to revoke permit suspension till airline pays up

Airport Authority of India chairman V P Agrawal will write to Director General of Civil Aviation not to revoke suspension of Kingfisher Airlines  permit until the airline gives a time frame for clearing dues.

Kingfisher owes about Rs 300 crore to the AAI. "We will formally write to the DGCA that the airline's revival plan should include time frame and details  on  payment to  service providers and airports," Agrawal said.

AAI's concerns stems from the fact that it has taken  so long for the airline  pay  March salaries and that was just Rs 21 crore whereas its dues are Rs 300 crore.

AAI has recently served notice to Kingfisher to vacate its hangar at Chennai  and had seized its planes in a bid to pressurise the airline to pay up.
