Ashok Leyland posts 24% drop in sales in August

During Apr-Aug period, total sales dropped 19.5% to 37,609

Ashok Leyland has reported a 24.3% drop in sales at 7139 units during the month of August 2013 as compared to 9432 units a year ago. Company's commercial vehicle (M&HCV) sales (excluding Dost) dropped by 25.1% to 4939 units from 6597 units and Dost sales dropped 22.4% to 2200 units from 2835 units.
 
During the period April to August 2013, total sales dropped by 19.5% to 37,609 units from 46,704 units and commercial vehicle sales dropped by 22.8% to 26,105 units from 33,818 units and its LCV product Dost reported a 10.7% drop in sales to 11,504 units from 12,886 units.
