Justifying all its demands, including allocation of CSR funds for the education of employees' children and construction of a museum in the memory of the company's founder, Bajaj Auto employees union today said the management was exhibiting a 'prejudiced' mindset.

On Thursday, Bajaj Auto managing director Rajeev Bajaj said the management will not tolerate another agitation at the company's Chakan plant and termed the union's demands as "insane and preposterous".

"This reveals the prejudiced thinking of the Bajaj management against the union. The history of Bajaj management in terms of industrial relations is always awful and there is a need to introspect why is it so," union president Dilip Pawar said in a letter to the management.

"We do not want to criticise Bajaj management due to our magnanimity. But it is our moral responsibility to justify our position and demands," Pawar said in the letter.

The union has warned of stoppage of work at Chakan plant from April 28.

The union had on April 14 served a notice with a list of demands, which include allocation of CSR funds for education of employees' children, setting up a museum in the name of company's founder Jamnalal Bajaj within a year and allotment of shares at a discounted price.

The Chakan plant employs over 2,000 workers, including around 900 permanent ones, and produces 1.2 million units of bikes a year, including the Pulsar, Avenger, Ninja and the KTM brands.
