Steel maker Bhushan Steel today said its net profit surged nearly eleven fold to Rs 227.43 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009, over the same period last fiscal.
Net sales increased to Rs 1,429 crore for the latest quarter, against Rs 1,002.33 crore for the same period previous fiscal, Bhushan Steel said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
For the nine-month period ended December 31, 2009, the company posted a net profit of Rs 588.46 crore against Rs 296.39 crore for the same period a year ago.
Shares of Bhushan Steel today closed at Rs 1,436.20 on the BSE, up 1.96 per cent from its previous close.
