Birla Corporation today said the Company Law Board (CLB) has dismissed a petition seeking postponement of its annual general meeting (AGM) for June 23.
"The CLB in its order dated June 14 dismissed the petition filed by Birla Educational Trust and other Birla concerns seeking stalling of the AGM of Birla Corporation," a company spokesperson said.
The Birla Educational Trust and other Birla concerns had also prayed for freezing voting rights of M P Group shareholders and put a stay on the re-appointment of H V Lodha as director.
Birla Corporation, the flagship company of M P Birla group, had been the bone of contention between the Lodhas and Birlas as late Priyamvada Birla had bequeathed the assets of the group through a purported will to the former.
Both the groups have been engaged in a bitter legal battle since 2004.
