Domestic air traffic grew 14.5 percent on a year-on-year as airlines flew 6.6 million passengers in September. Last September airlines flew 5.8 million.
However the passenger growth at 14.5 percent was slowest this year. The highest growth was witnessed in July when passengers flown increased 29 percent.
IndiGo led the domestic airline space with a market share of 36.5 percent followed by Jet Airways-JetLite combine (22 percent) and Air India (15.9 percent).
SpiceJet reported the highest occupancy with a load factor of 93 percent. Infact the airline has been recording 90 plus percent occupancy since May. GoAir and IndiGo both reported loads of 79 percent.
Vistara had lowest occupancy amongst peers with load factor of 62.4 percent but had the highest on time performance of 94 percent and zero cancellations.
