Uttar Pradesh energy task force (ETF) has approved laying of transmission infrastructure entailing investment of Rs 1,700 crore in the 12th Five Year Plan for the Lalitpur thermal power project.
India’s largest sugar producer Bajaj Hindusthan is setting up a 1,980 Mw power plant in Lalitpur district of arid Bundelkhand.
The ETF chaired by the state chief secretary also approved construction of 33/11 kv sub-stations and lines at an outlay of Rs 22 crore for sprucing up the power infrastructure in Lucknow, Bahraich, Unnao and Gonda districts. Energy secretary Navneet Sehgal said ETF had also agreed to the proposal of PTC India for supply of 50 million units of solar power.
