Nudgespot raises $650,000 Nudgespot, a platform that provides tailor-made communication for businesses and their customers, has raised $650,000 in seed funding from Kae Capital and angel investors Anoop Goyal, Mike Shah and V A Sastry. It allows firms to automate or broadcast messages to customers based on their behaviour. Byond Travel to raise $3 million Byond Travel, a Bengaluru-based experience-focused travel platform, is looking at raising $1- 3 million in a Series-A round of funding. It plans to use this money to build team, expand into multiple regions and for customer acquisitions, according to its founder Vikram Ahuja. The first start-up out of Kyron's Innovation Labs, it had raised an initial seed round of $100,000 from Kyron Angel Network. Ahuja is a founding partner at Kyron, a global start-up accelerator and capital (venture capitalist) funding firm based out of Bengaluru.
Crown-it raises $5.5 million Gurgaon-based Crown-it, a marketplace for local businesses, has raised $5.5 million from venture capital firms Accel Partners and Helion Venture Partners in Series-A funding. It helps consumers discover local merchants and drive business to those merchants. It charges the merchants a marketing fee for sales driven at the outlets, and shares part of the fee with consumers as cash-back.
Twitter co-founder backs Lookup Lookup, a messaging app that connects shoppers with local businesses has raised $382,000 in Series-A funding from Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, who has joined the team as an investor and advisor. Other investors include S Gopalakrishnan, Teru Sato, DeNA and MKS Group (Switzerland). Lookup will use the funds to expand its merchant base and reach.
