The company, which today opened around 45 new service and sales facilities across the country, plans to take the current tally of 304 such centres to 500 till the middle of the decade.
"Our aim is to have 500 service touch points in the country by the middle of this decade. Around 40 per cent of these facilities would come up between tier II and tier IV towns," Ford India Executive Director (Marketing, Sales and Service) Vinay Piparsania told PTI.
Smaller towns have great potential to grow and the company is looking to tap this potential, he added.
As part of expanding its service network across the country, the company today opened 45 new touch points in various locations including Faridabad, Noida, Jhansi, Nasik, Shillong, Kochi and Panvel, taking the total number of facilities across the country to 304.
"The idea is to get closer to the customer and enhance consumer experience. We are bringing Ford's global standards of retailing, systems and operations to India," Piparsania said.
The idea is to remain competitive and enhance consumer satisfaction, he added.
The company has also launched a slew of measures including, 'Happy Pocket Service', in which the customer will have to pay a fixed price for scheduled service across the country.
"From localisation to affordable spares and after-sales service initiatives like Happy Pocket service, we are committed to go further in enhancing the ownership experience of our customers," he added.
The company currently sells compact hatchback Figo, sedans Fiesta and Classic, sports utility vehicle Endeavour and compact SUV EcoSport in the country.
