Former CFO of WNS joins General Atlantic

Misra to provide financial expertise, strategic counsel to GA's investment teams, its portfolio companies

Leading global private equity firm - General Atlantic LLC (GA) has appointed Alok C. Misra as a senior vice president for India operations.

In this role, Misra will provide financial expertise and strategic counsel to GA’s investment teams and its portfolio companies as part of the firm’s Resources Group in GA’s Mumbai office, said a company statement.

Misra was most recently Group Chief Financial Officer with WNS Group. Prior to that, he was the Group Chief Financial Officer of MphasiS BFL and served a number of accounting and finance roles at other firms, including I.T.C. Limited and PwC.

We are extremely pleased to have Alok join our team in this senior role to help our professionals diligence potential portfolio companies as well as support existing portfolios in their growth," said Sandeep Naik, Managing Director and Head of GA India.

GA’s India team is led by Sandeep Naik, who joined the firm in December 2012.

GA’s most recent investments in India include Fourcee, a logistics company, IndusInd Bank, a leading bank and financial services provider, and Mu Sigma, a data analytics company.

Other current and prior portfolio companies include Genpact, National Stock Exchange (NSE), InfoTech, IBS Software Services, Jubilant and Patni.

Founded in 1980, GA manages approximately $18 billion globally.
