FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) is targeting a 25 per cent market share in the hand sanitiser segment this fiscal, a top company official said.

The company has launched several products, including sanitisers, wet-wipes and hand-wash under its brand Protekt, with an aim to get a grip on the hand hygiene market.

"The sanitiser market is over Rs 25 crore...We are eyeing a 25 per cent share in this fiscal," GCPL's Executive Vice-President Marketing Tarun Arora told reporters here today, after launching 'Freedom to Touch' campaign for its product.

He said that the sanitiser market is growing at 50 per cent every year. "It (sanitiser market) is at a nascent stage in India. But it is slowly picking up. The market is growing at 50 per cent every year," Arora said.

Arora said that the company would launch a campaign for hand hygiene products in major metros like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Kolkata. "We plan to launch the campaign at railway stations, colleges and shopping malls," he added.
