Geometric extends AMC with Sweden's Volvo Cars

The application maintenance contract to include applications like computer aided design and product lifecycle management landscape

Geometric has extended its application maintenance contract (AMC) with Sweden's Volvo Cars, under which applications like computer aided design and product lifecycle management landscape will be included.

Geometric has been partnering with Volvo Cars for their global engineering and manufacturing needs since 2010.

In a notification to the BSE, Geometric said it will deploy its proven application maintenance services framework on well-defined 4E methodology, which is designed to enable, ensure, enhance and evolve the targeted product lifecycle management, engineering IT and manufacturing IT applications to deliver value to Volvo.

Geometric will also leverage its understanding of Volvo's product development IT landscape to support the latter's new product development programs, it said.

In addition to application maintenance, Geometric works with Volvo across multiple projects related to the design and development of complex and large scale CAD and PLM strategic initiatives, and provides offshore support through a delivery center based in Chennai.
