Granules India Q3 net jumps 42%

Pharmaceutical firm Granules India today said its consolidated net profit rose by 41.99% to Rs 7.98 crore during the quarter ended December 31, 2011, vis-a-vis the same period last fiscal.

The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 5.62 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, Granules India said in a statement.

Consolidated net sales of the company stood at Rs 185.72 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011, as against Rs 128 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, it added.

Commenting on the results, Granules India MD Krishna Prasad said: "We have successfully gained market share because customers appreciate our blend of quality, customer service and value... [besides] gaining approval for our Naproxen sodium tablet ANDA and receiving MHRA approval for our Ibuprofen API."

Shares of Granules India settled at Rs 65.80 apiece on the BSE today, down 0.15% from their previous close.
