Moreover, while it holds a 4-6 per cent market share across the country in smartphones, HTC India is eyeing a 15 per cent share in the next 24 months, said Faisal Siddiqui, country head, HTC India.
"Gujarat contributes 12-14 per cent to our smartphones business and will continue to drive through increased retail and service presence. For instance, we are looking at setting up a concept store in Ahmedabad. Nationally, we are aiming for a 15 per cent market share in next 24 months. We will achieve this by expanding our distribution network," Siddiqui added.
In order to enhance its market share, the company is also set to focus on critical price points of sub-Rs 10000 and sub-Rs 30000. For instance, the handset maker launched HTC Desire 210 and HTC Desire 816 at Rs 8700 and Rs 23900, respectively. The company also recently launched a high-end HTC One (M8) at Rs 49900.
"About 50 per cent of smartphones in India are priced less than Rs 10000. We would like to attack every critical price point. We realised we cannot afford not to be in the Rs 8000 and Rs 20000 price points," Siddiqui added.
Meanwhile, the company, which increased its service points from 50 to 200 recently, is eyeing further increase to 800 service points.
