Hunger invests Rs 13 cr in its first Indian facility

South German company, Hunger Group, will start production from its first manufacturing facility in India at Sankrail (Howrah District) from February 2010.

The compay which makes hydraulic components started its operation in Kolkata in 1987 as a wholly-owned non-resident office. W Hunger Hydraulics India had so far focused on distributing all Hunger products in India,

The hi-tech polymers plant would extend the initial focus to the production of standard hi-tech polymer-based seals and bearing elements for hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders to cater to the Indian market and subsequently export markets.

A company statement said, the production of hydraulic seals and bearing elements was scheduled for February 2010.

The new factory on 0.6 acres was inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

The total investment in the unit was to the tune of Rs 13 crore. Besides sealing technologies and improvisation of processing technologies, automation and quality management, helped the company to export to countries like South Africa, India, China and the US.
