Idea Cellular on Monday reported over two-fold rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 240 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2012.
Net profit stood at Rs 105.7 crore in the year-ago period.
Total revenue increased by 15 per cent to Rs 5,314 crore, compared to Rs 4,619.9 crore in the corresponding period last year.
“With the increasing proportion of rural subscribers, the seasonal slowdown in the second quarter has become more pronounced resulting in sharp contraction in the ‘Voice Minutes of Use’ by four per cent, to 125.6 billion minutes compared to 130.9 billion minutes in Q1, FY13,” Idea said in a statement.
