IL&FS Engineering narrows net loss to Rs 15 cr in Q2

Total income has increased to Rs 266 cr for the quarter against Rs 244 in the corresponding quarter last year

Hyderabad-based IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Limited has posted Rs 15.79 crore net loss for the second quarter ended September 30, 2012, as against Rs 37.62 crore net loss for the same period last year.

The total income of the company has increased to Rs 266.04 crore for the quarter, as against Rs 244.16 in the corresponding quarter last year, registering a 8.96 per cent growth.Total expense increased 9.29 per cent to Rs 278.70 crore in the quarter, compared to Rs 255 crore a year ago.

The company has opened a branch in Abu Dhabi for pursuing new business, according to a release.

The company's scrip is currently trading at Rs 57.90 on Bombay Stock Exchange, up 0.52 per cent over the previous close of Rs 57.60.
