In a survey of over 3,000 Indian employers, international experience was found to be a key attribute that companies are looking for in prospective employees. This makes Indian graduates from London attractive hires.

The survey which was commissioned by the London Universities International Partnership (LUIP) among 3,000 employers, in nine top Indian cities. And of the CEOs and HR Directors who were surveyed, 81% believed that their company would benefit from recruiting Indian graduates who have studied at a London university.

Over three quarters of the surveyed companies confirmed that London graduates could expect to earn higher salaries and progress faster than their counterparts without an international education, said the press release by LUIP.

Gary Davies Chair of LUIP says, “These returning students bring independence of thought and cross-cultural understanding, which according to Indian employers add real value to their business when trading on a world stage. It’s good news for our graduates too, as in addition to an outstanding qualification, they can expect to be rewarded with accelerated career prospects.”

Nilay Arun, a Director at Cadence Trading Private Limited, who had studied in London says, “The London name helped me to get through a bulge bracket investment bank even at the height of recession. As businesses become more and more international, the London exposure helps set you apart and enables you to hit the ground running.”

The research for LUIP was carried out by Delhi based education specialist IndoGenius, the release said.
