Kyoorius, a not for profit initiative by Transasia Fine Papers that is known for creating annual conferences on design — Kyoorius Designyatra, has announced launch of the ‘Kyoorius Awards' in partnership with D&AD and the International Advertising Association (IAA) - India Chapter.

The awards, conceptualised with an aim of recognising and rewarding excellence, innovation and originality, will be given away at the 9th annual Kyoorius Designyatra in Goa on August 29.

Kyoorius has brought D&AD on board, which is a membership organisation, awards programme and educational charity representing the global design and advertising community. D&AD will help Kyoorius is getting the international jury and conduct the awards. Similarly, The IAA, the global association with membership representing advertising agencies and the media has joined as partner.

The D&AD Yellow Pencil is recognised world over as the most prestigious amongst creative awards. “Excellence in creativity inspires higher quality work, raises the bar and delivers success for business,” Tim Lindsay, CEO of D&AD, said. “Joining hands with Kyoorius works in tandem with the objectives of D&AD, which aims to inform, educate and inspire those who work in and around the creative industries.”

Rajesh Kejriwal, founder CEO, Kyoorius added, “Kyoorius Awards aim to recognise and honour outstanding creative work in India. We are thankful to our esteemed partners D&AD and IAA (India Chapter) for coming on board to support this initiative.”

The inaugural Kyuoorius Awards will be given in nine categories to professionals and six to students. The professional categories include print, packaging, digital, retail, craft, and design for good.

The student awards will bring together big names in the industry to create real briefs that students will work on — providing them a chance to showcase capabilities in real world scenarios.

Kaushik Roy, Immediate Past President — IAA India Chapter said, “We know the power of design and it is crucial that we support and award the best creative minds in India. We, at IAA are excited about the partnership with Kyoorius and D&AD and feel this platform will further IAA’s work in supporting and helping grow the creative industry in India.”
