The announcement comes at a time as the Group intends to list L&T Infotech by early next year.
Jalona has also been inducted as a Director on the board of L&T Infotech. Prior to joining L&T Infotech, Jalona was with Infosys as executive VP and global head of high-tech manufacturing & engineering services. During his 15 years at Infosys, Jalona had held senior leadership positions across USA, Europe and India. "Sanjay brings vast experience and deep understanding of changes in theindustry that are very valuable to L&T Infotech," said A M Naik, Group Executive Chairman, Larsen & Toubro. "Our clients are seeking smarter and more intelligent solutions. We believe that Sanjay has the ability to solve these challenges and the experienceto take L&T Infotech to the next level."
Jalona will operate out of L&T Infotech's office in Edison, New Jersey, USA. His appointment adds thrust to L&T Infotech's plans to boost profitable growth and strengthen its presence in the Americas, Europe, GCC countries and the Far East, said the company.

L&T Infotech is structured around two clusters. The 'Industrials' cluster leverages the expertise of other L&T businesses andcaters to clients in verticals like process & discretemanufacturing, energy & utilities, hi-tech & consumerelectronics, among others. The 'services' cluster focuses onbanking, financial services, insurance, travel & logistics, media& entertainment and health care.
Tilllast year, the company had two CEO's Mukhesh Aghi and Vivek Chopra,both left the company in October. In March 2014, Chandrashekar Kakal,had joined L&T Infotech as COO, reporting to V K Magappu, MD, L&T Infotech.
