Luxembourg-based Regus brings flexi office concept to UP

Regus offers temporary workspaces, with routine secretarial support and office amenities like reception area, cafeteria, conference room, videoconferencing

Regus, the Luxembourg-based flexible office and workplace provider, on Monday launched its maiden centre in Lucknow.

The company is now looking at other major cities in Uttar Pradesh, especially Kanpur and Varanasi, to expand in Uttar Pradesh.

“Uttar Pradesh offers a lot of potential and we would be proactively reaching out to our prospective clients and industry bodies to create awareness about our concept,” Regus Country Manager Harsh Lambah told Business Standard here.

He said the company was looking at expanding in major Tier-II cities, since they offer tremendous growth potential and also because there was a rapidly growing demand for flexible, specialised workspaces.

Regus offers temporary workspaces, which are supported by routine secretarial support and office amenities, including reception area, cafeteria, conference room, videoconferencing etc.

According to a Regus survey, 37 percent of the Indian respondents declared that IT glitches played a major role in hampering their productivity.

He said Regus’ clientele comprised 25 percent corporate, 35 percent medium enterprises and 40 percent Small and Medium Enterprises (SME). Regus has 60 centres across 14 major cities in India.

“Our goal is have our footprint in all the state capitals and open multiple centres in all the big cities,” Lambah informed.

The Lucknow centre is spread over 9,500 sq ft and offers about 45 office cabins/conference rooms.

The company has a network of 2,300 business centres spread over 104 countries. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
