Auto-maker Mahindra & Mahindra today reported 27% jump in sales at 40,719 units for April, 2012.
The company had sold 32,090 units in the same month last year, M&M said in a statement.
In the domestic market, the company registered 29% rise in sales to 39,299 units, compared to 30,349 units in the year-ago period, it said.
Total sales of passenger vehicles, including Scorpio, XUV500, Xylo, Bolero and Verito were 20,558 units last month, as against 15,459 units in April 2011, up 33%.
The company, however, said sales of its three-wheelers stood at 4,659 units, up from 4,411 units during the same month last year.
Sales of the company's Gio and Maxximo mini-trucks and other four-wheeler commercial vehicles increased to 13,054 units from 9,538 units in the year-ago period, the statement said.
M&M's exports declined to 1,420 units during the month from 1,741 units in April 2011.
