Jaihind Projects Q4 net profit up 28% to Rs 10 cr

Net sales up 21% to Rs 226.9 cr vs Rs 187.19 cr in Q4 year ago

Hinduja group firm Jaihind Projects today reported a growth of over 28% in its standalone net profit to Rs 10.02 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012, compared to Rs 7.8 crore profit in the year-ago period.

The net sales of the company increased by over 21% to Rs 226.87 crore during the quarter from Rs 187.19 crore in the fourth quarter of 2010-11, it said in a filing to the BSE.

Total expenditure of the company was also up 17.77% to Rs 195.86 crore, while its interest cost was Rs 16.93 crore during the January-March quarter.

The company did not provide consolidated results for the quarter.

Jaihind Projects is an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company, having presence in various segments, including oil and gas pipeline construction, city gas distribution and civil infrastructure.

For the full year 2011-12, the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 28.51 crore, up 11% compared to a net profit of Rs 25.70 crore of FY'11.

Its consolidated net sales were also up over 29% to Rs 569 crore, while its total expenditure increased by 28.70% to Rs 469.70 crore.

In February, the company had commissioned a 5 MW solar power plant in Patan Gujarat, it said in the filing.

Shares of the company closed today at Rs 128.55 apiece on the BSE, down 0.04 per cent from the previous close.
