Midhani turnover at Rs 370 crore

Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani) achieved its highest-ever turnover of Rs 370 crore and a profit before tax of Rs 64 crore for the financial year 2009-10. The mini-ratna defence public sector undertaking had orders worth Rs 738 crore, including Rs 423 crore booked during the year.

Midhani manufactured and commissioned an electric discharge cutting machine. A fastners plant to cater to aerospace and naval applications was on the cards. This plant would be run by women employees.

The company was modernising its facilities to meet the needs of ‘human in space’ and other programmes of the Department of Space, according to a release.
