NDTV posts Q1 net loss at Rs 60.8 cr

New Delhi Television (NDTV) today reported its consolidated net loss at Rs 60.8 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.

The company had a net profit of Rs 212.58 crore in the fourth quarter FY2009-10, NDTV said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

"The consolidated results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2010 include the results of operations of Turner General Entertainment Networks India (formerly NDTV Imagine) and its subsidiaries in which the Group had diluted its holding to a minority stake on February 23, 2010.

"Therefore, the consolidated results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2011 are not comparable with the corresponding previous period," NDTV said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Income from operations stood at Rs 131.87 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011, while it had an income from operations at Rs 141.07 crore in the same period last year.

For the year ended March 31, the company posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 173.89 crore, while it had net profit of Rs 117.65 crore in the previous fiscal.

Income from operations stood at Rs 418.57 crore for FY11, while income from operations for FY10 stood at Rs 590.3 crore.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 67.40 a piece, up 0.30% from its previous close on the BSE.
